We know that this is becoming a confusing and stressful time as the ripple effects of COVID-19 are making its way into daily life in the Houston area. With locals canceling travel plans and schools in the area extending spring break Wet Nose Lodge is starting to feel the impact.
While we know that many of you are exercising caution, we want to encourage you to try and maintain your dog’s normal routine as much as possible. Regular walks, exercise and socialization are extremely important for dogs and dramatic changes to their day-to-day life can compound anxiety and stress for your Wet Nose Family Member.
Should you, or a member fo your household becomes infected with COVID-19, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends limiting contact with your pets. Though there have not yet been reports of pets becoming sick with COVID-19, nor any reports of pets spreading the disease to humans, the CDC advises sick owners to seek assistance in caring for their pets and to avoid contact directly with their animals. If you find yourself in this situation, Wet Nose Lodge is here to support you and your Wet Nose Family Member.
We have always taken great pride with our standards for safety and cleanliness, and our Paw-Some staff works extremely hard to ensure we provide a fun and healthy environment for every guest – whether they have two legs or four. Our boarding accommodations, grooming areas and lobby are cleaned throughout the day using veterinary grade cleaning products. Outside of these areas, our staff is increasing our daily frequency to clean staff common areas, windows, door handles and restrooms.
Finally, Wet Nose Lodge & Spa is a small, local business that depends on our regular clients. While many business are undoubtedly affected by the current uncertainty, our services are often uniquely impacted when travel plans are canceled, or when office workers stay home. The groomers and daycare/boarding attendants who take such good care of your pups are all affected by booking cancellations or reduction in service requests.
If possible, we hope you’ll be able to continue to support Wet Nose Lodge & Spa during this time. Whether it is giving your dog the exercise and socialization they need, helping you create a quiet and productive work environment at home, or taking care of your Wet Nose Family Member while you’re sick, our daycare and lodging services are here for you and your pup.
If you have any additional questions about our safety and sanitary procedure, or other concerns related to COVID-19, please contact us.
Thank you and best wishes,
Coleman Payne
